The Summer Academy of Lithuanian Language and Culture at Klaipėda University brought together almost one hundred participants from 30 countries this year — from those who want to read their great-grandfather’s poems in the original language to those who need the language at work and in their new family. According to Dr Kristina Blockytė-Naujokė, head of the Centre for Lithuanian Studies and Foreign Languages (LUKC), the university received far more applications than it could accommodate.
